    Clay,

great video there. LOVE the music. I looked on iTunes and couldn't find the track. Can you tell me which Lemon Jelly song it is?

Love the article about ditching the alarm clock too.

    Thanks!
  • Clay Collins · 1 year ago
@JD Elliott: I'm glad you like the video. The song is called "'93 aka Don't Stop Now" and it's off the album called "'64-'95." I'll shoot you an email with more information.

I LOVE the video. I'm inspired to.... imitate? Create my own! I have a welcome to my website video, but it is kind of... bland. I also liked the quality of metacafe. I've used youtube and blip.tv, but youtube isn't the greatest quality and blip.tv has been a bit buggy. I gotta check out meta.

Hey, thanks for visiting my site. I'm gonna hit your RSS feed. Nice site, Clay.... Tom Tomstine.com

I just found your blog and I'm amazed by your idea. It's awesome and a bit different of other motivational blogs, because you show a PURPOSE for all that.
    Wow! Congrats! :o)

@Maria: Thanks! I'm glad that you find The Growing Life to be different and hope you'll come back. Thanks a ton!

Hey Clay you changed your greeting. I came back to thank you for your comment on my site about my daughter.

Madison, Wisconsin, huh? I graduated from UW-Madison...

Clay, I just navigated to your blog and find it extremely interesting. Your alternative approach does have a fresh spin on the subject.

Really great and unique website... as a public school teacher who is now a stay-at-home-mom, I have seen firsthand how I want things to be different for my daughter. My family and I are currently stationed in Belgium with the army, and so are given the opportunity to be gypsies--and a peek into other cultures--for quite awhile. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Hey Clay,
After reading more about you (and not just the blog page my bro forwarded), I'm interested in reading more. I'm a HUGE fan of unschooling and have spent a good chunk of my life examining all different forms of education in pursuit of living the good life (Nearing-style). I suppose it's safe to safe that as with education, I am (and have always been) pursuing alternative forms of livelihood. We can work less, make more, and live better, I'm convinced of it.
I currently work part time in a law office, but am eager to quit and pursue my multiple streams of revenue closer to home (and heart). The stint was good, but now it's time to go.

    Thanks for sharing!

Hi Clay, I love your site, it's my favorite of the self improvement sites out there. The only thing I'm not wild about is that sometimes it's hard to find the articles through all the ads. But anyway, keep up the great work.

How do we live out the LifeStyle of our dreams...

Clay this is really interesting! I've never been to your blog before but I did just see that 'the blog is dead' message on the home page. This is a really interesting idea to interview people who have unusual jobs or ways to make a living.

I wonder why you quit this blog? I find this kind of thing really fascinating and I can't wait to find some cool posts!

    Hi Clay,

Great site! Found you through the Financial Philosopher. Kind of curious why you have two sites, but I guess I will find out as I read more.
I currently have a fairly unique life with a job that I love and some side income. Who knows if I will ever make the switch to total self-employment, but we will find out soon. Keep up the great work!

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    Clay,

I just found your site and there's some great stuff here! Very fresh and interesting! Sorry to see that you'll no longer be posting here, although there's plenty still to keep me busy for awhile. And I'll be sure to check out your new site, too. Good luck!
